I actually was going to write something more substantial but the weather is very *iffy*. In other words, tornado warnings are out, along with high wind advisories etc. etc. Tornadoes have been spotted by North Platte and heading north but they can change very fast -- as we all know.

The weather was nice enough earlier that I went into Hastings. Dropped off a sack of clothing at Goodwill (still a tiny drop in the bucket) then went to K-Mart to see if there were any bathing suits in my size. Long story short, no. Ah well. Then I went to the Y to workout a bit and *then* I managed to see "The Artist" which was being shown at the museum at 5 pm. :) What can I say? I adored it, and I am *So Happy* that I managed to remain unspoiled for it. Staying unspoiled for movies is very hard these days. From there, I came home, and just in time too.

I had hoped to have coffee with Summer today but with weird phone connections due to weather and wretched voicemail, we didn't manage to connect. Maybe later in the week? Hope so anyway.

Ok, logging off due to weather, etc. Ttyl!

Storm coming up fast so it looks like I am going offline for now. Niters!

Yup, according to the local tv weather, it's gonna start about midnight and it's gonna be *bad*. There are already a bunch of cancellations scrolling along the bottom of the screen, with more to come. Oh. Yay. ::leSigh:: Oh well if nothing else, I should get most of my Christmas cards done -- except for the prezzies. My cousin Donna is getting a gift card to Borders or Barnes and Noble [maybe even iTunes], not sure what but at least I'll know she's not spending it on booze or anything else of the sort. As for my aunties, I have no clue. None. Zero. Zip. Nada. Warm slippers I guess though they probably have enough pairs to go for an entire winter and not even get one pair slightly scuffed.

Back later on, as long as the power holds out.

Oh you lucky lucky people! XD Aren't you so glad to know that I can *still* find time to make a post about the weather? Yup, it's stormy out again, mostly wet and drizzling all day. Now we have thunder, pretty loud. Nothing on tv or online that says it will be bad but just to be safe... I suppose I'll log off because of it but when I do, my server will probably go out and I won't be back online until sometime tomorrow. *le sigh*

Worked on fic a little more; otherwise haven't really done much of anything.

Back later on if possible.

I can feel it in the air; something is brewing. Big? Not quite sure. But definitely brewing. I can also see the clouds building up in the west. This is just a teeny bit early for it, I think. So I may or may not be online much. We'll see.

My server has been glitchy all day long, probably due in part to the extremely high winds we've had--gusts up to over 30 mph. A *big* branch came down in front of my door, blocking it and banged up the fence a little but nothing bad. Shockey came and cut it up with his chainsaw, so now I can get outside again. Some fairly bad storms are predicted for tonight as well.

Letter from K.

Brother is recovering nicely from his neuter on Monday. I kinda hated to do it (because of the general idea of forcing my will on his like that, I think) but I know I did the right thing and in the long run he will be happier and healthier because of it. The vet was very pleased with his overall health -- 9 3/4 lbs., a good weight -- (he's FeLiv negative, yay!); the only problem was ear mites which are easily cleared up. He's a year old (or nearly so) and current on all his shots, so he should be a happy healthy boy now. It was a bit more than I had planned for but they are letting me have a couple of weeks to finish paying, since I had already paid 90% up front. That helps, plus they know I will be bringing in the mother cats as soon as the kittens are weaned (which will be *soon* Please!!!)

Posting this now while the server is up.

Tonight I am watching "Screened Out" on TCM, since I have no real reason to watch anything else. I'm giving up "you-know-what" and also the Sopranos, which you know is incredibly rare for me. But this is Pride Month and these movies are seldom (if ever) seen on tv, so I am making a rare exception.

Wow, big surprise eh? But yeah, there are some serious storms rolling in and we are under flash flood warnings until noon tomorrow. Oh yay.

On a more cheerful note, I saw the *other* set of kittens today. The moms moved them around *again* and now they are half--way under/behind the bed and nightstand. LeeAnn is still having fits to get to them; the poor little thing can barely rest from hearing and sniffing for them. But that's what happens when you have a fully interactive radar screen hardwired in your face. (Ok, I will stop trying to be funny now.)

Oh yeah, I am hoping to see PotC 3 sometime this week. I didn't go this weekend due to family stuff and today they had all sorts of storm warnings out. Maybe tomorrow or the next day? In any case, I definitely want to avoid the kiddie showings as much as is possible.

Logging off early tonight so the 'puter doesn't fry. No other real news since I won't be watching the Finals on tv tonight. Niters all!

EDIT: We are having Severe Weather Updates (McCook is in the eye right now), which is really the main reason I keep the cable tv and watch any of the "regular" channels.

It sounds as if it might get kinda nasty later on this afternoon/night so I'm posting now while the weather isn't too bad. It's windy though, there are high wind warnings out. Yay.

I got the car repair bill, which is right at $875.00. ::gulps:: Yeah, that pretty much killed any hope I had of getting some other *necessary* house repairs done but oh well. The part that went bad was the injection assembly ($530) and the labor was $108. The towing from here to Hastings and running diagnostics came to $176.15. And there was one additional gasket(?) that needed replaced as well (otherwise I would have had to take it right back for it to be fixed as well), so... yeah. Kinda steep, but the parts & labor are guaranteed for 1 year which helps. I just wish I could have gotten Sam to help me coax it to the shop in Hastings, that would have saved quite a bit. But sometimes things just can't be helped. Damn and double damn.

The one good thing is that I already had my utility bills paid, so that is one less worry for this month. The bad news is -- no chance to buy groceries other than milk, etc. and garden things to plant as intended. Meh. I also had to put my neuter/spay plans on hold indefinitely again which is a big worry in itself. But there's no help for it. And so it goes.
