Today the city had its annual clean-up day and I had a whole lot of cut down trees and brush gotten rid of. Also a few odd bits of other stuff but mostly trees etc.

I was planning to write more but I hear thunder and we are in a tornado warning area. Well, practically the whole state is but you know, *still*. And the furkids are a little nervous too. :/

My little car is still without a garage, mostly because of all the other junk that is piled in there and that I have not been able to clear out. Maybe next week? Perhaps.

Ok, logging off for now. I'll try to keep this updated.

I actually was going to write something more substantial but the weather is very *iffy*. In other words, tornado warnings are out, along with high wind advisories etc. etc. Tornadoes have been spotted by North Platte and heading north but they can change very fast -- as we all know.

The weather was nice enough earlier that I went into Hastings. Dropped off a sack of clothing at Goodwill (still a tiny drop in the bucket) then went to K-Mart to see if there were any bathing suits in my size. Long story short, no. Ah well. Then I went to the Y to workout a bit and *then* I managed to see "The Artist" which was being shown at the museum at 5 pm. :) What can I say? I adored it, and I am *So Happy* that I managed to remain unspoiled for it. Staying unspoiled for movies is very hard these days. From there, I came home, and just in time too.

I had hoped to have coffee with Summer today but with weird phone connections due to weather and wretched voicemail, we didn't manage to connect. Maybe later in the week? Hope so anyway.

Ok, logging off due to weather, etc. Ttyl!

A very bad 'straight' line of storms and high winds is heading this way. 90 mph or more winds (100 mph is common with this line), and hook signatures that indicate tornado activity. However, the furkids are not too freaked yet.

Also, I turned my ankle early this morning and it hurts like crazy -- swollen too.

Back later on. Maybe.

Ok, tornado in Adams County and (more or less) this way. They're calling it "a dangerous storm." NSS.

Though it does look like the storms will roll by soon?

::fingers crossed::

I am hoping that those of you on my flist, who live or have family/friends in the area(s) affected by the severe weather are all safe and well.

It seems that the Tuscaloosa tornado was more personal than I thought; it seems that my cousin Kristy has (had?) a house there. A tree fell on their house but luckily everyone made it into the basement safely. (Her daughter Amanda went to university there and lived there for six years, yet she can hardly recognize anything at all from the pictures.) More than that, I don't know -- but the news certainly looks grim. I will post more when I learn it.

This has all made me think of my cousin Donna(tm) even more than usual; she was always so frightened of tornadoes, and she was so thankful she lived in NC "because we never get that kind of weather here." And it looks like the severe weather is heading for NC even now.

Back later on.

A tornado reportedly hit Ulysses NE (north of York) -- sounds very bad; it was a 1 mile wide tornado. Oh fuck. A mile-wide tornado is, for all intents and purposes, larger than most of the small towns here.

All sorts of storms building in the areas and (no surprise) heading this way -- relatively speaking that is.

Back later on. Maybe.
