Tolkien mostly but also Norse mythology, MCU (and DCU, though to a much lesser extent.)

I don't know. I'm a big fan of reading banned books because if they have been banned, they must be good. (That's a rough paraphrasing of an Issac Asimov quote btw.)

Being almost-broke all the time. Seriously, being almost-broke all the time is not fun. For one thing, it's exhausting and plays havoc with my ability to write.
