Last night it was very cold, and tonight will be much the same. Brrrrrr! I hate cold weather like this -- it's at least 3 weeks early. :/ Yesterday was spent bringing in assorted veggie plants and flowers so they wouldn't freeze -- now all I need to do is finish potting them for inside the house. I did do container gardening with my tomatoes, which is about the only veggie that grew. Everything else just failed, and I am sure it was due to the fact that they were in containers and not the ground. Next year, I *will* buy a tiller so I can have my own garden.

I am trying to get the pics I took on vacation organized a bit and I hope to make a preliminary post tomorrow. It won't be a lot but it will be a start. Most of the pics are still on the card in my camera -- and I can't quite remember how to get it out, lol! But I will figure it out eventually. [g] Also, my cousin P. is going to send me some more pictures as well.

Other than that, there is no news to speak of.

Ttyl!

Guess what? I hear thunder... loud thunder. And it is *dark* outside. Yesterday it was very light until around 8 pm. Yes, there are storms in the area yet again. Big surprise, eh?

Today was busy. I got some flowers on sale at Orscheln's (sic.) I spoke to Nikki W., who asked me about the house on S. Lincoln (which btw, is the one I had to let go.) She's very nice and I told her to tell everyone hi for me. Oh, and along with the flowers, I got big sacks of cedar shavings. (The pine shavings I have tried using in the litter boxes just do nothing to get rid of the 'eau de feline' -- phew! ::gags:: So it is back to cedar!)

Then I snagged a rotisserie chicken, plus a couple of other things at Russ's. The furkids are always happy when they smell rotisserie chicken, believe me. Forgiveness is guaranteed (for we hoomans make many many errors, such as no walkies or rides! Quelle horror!)

No movie (i.e., POTC 4) tonight because of the stormy weather. :(

And now, it is time to get busy with writing again. Back later on. Though maybe I'd better log off just to be safe even if the furkids are pretty cool about everything for now.

PS. I might go back to Orscheln's and get a few more plants/flowers later in the week; they have a really good sale, plus nice plants. The difference in price between it and some of the other stores is pretty miminal so I might as well go there as anywhere else.

It's raining. *Again*. ::head desk:: My lawn is so long already and this is just going to make it grow even more, and faster! Yikes!! At least I have already made arrangements for a local farmer to bring in a shredder to knock it down because seriously, it must be a good 10-12" high already, which is much too high for most mowers, even a rider. Now if it will just stay dry long enough to get some serious roof repairs done -- please!

Little was accomplished yesterday since I woke up way too early thanks to my senior kitteh gal, and then I ended up going back to bed and literally sleeping till noon. One thing that did get done was cleaning on the porch, something that has been long overdue.

Also, Mike H. came over and helped me set up a compost bin (consisting only of wire.) That is one small project finished! I have begun filling it, so we shall see how it does. Mike also knows of someone who might be able to plow up the garden spot I have planned. It's a bit late, true, but I still have time to get a decent garden in.

Ok, back later on. Ttyl!

Well, when the weather is nice, I am busy doing stuff outside. Slow, but sure. Also very iffy since the weather has been weird.

I have to admit I miss my aunt and uncle a lot. However, I still have one aunt left (on my mom's side) who is making plans for her 101st birthday in July. Her son, Mick, just rolls his eyes at the idea of another huge b'day party for her especially since his youngest daughter is getting remarried for the second (or third?) time this June. XD Love it! And I have an aunt and uncle (my dad's older brother and older sister) who are also 90+. (A lot of people just stare at me when I tell them this, like they think I'm playing some elaborate practical joke. Why, I don't know. Go figure.)

Today is also nice, so I will probably be back in a little while. Lots and lots of serious cleaning to do, and very little time to do it in. Also, I need to decide where I am going to plant the garden, and other flowers because spring is only a few weeks away.

Oh, and I really need to get that new bike! Exercise awaits!

The weather has been nice and warm, getting nearly 50(F) or better. Spring is coming, Yay! :) Time to start getting seeds and seed catalogs studied and readied. This year, a vegetable garden and some berry bushes are top priorities! Om nom nom!

Yesterday and part of today was spent catching up on laundry: things like heavy quilts, duvets and comforters that are pretty well impossible to dry inside. Oh, and sheets and pillowcases. And towels. And hoodies and t-shirts and jeans and... you name it, lol. Not to mention the inside cleaning... oh yes, I will be quite quite busy now.

I have been doing a little more writing too, trying to get some of them finished in time for birthdays... or perhaps Christmas 2011? Hmmmm. We shall see what happens, I guess. [vbeg] Wish me luck!

It sounds as if it might get kinda nasty later on this afternoon/night so I'm posting now while the weather isn't too bad. It's windy though, there are high wind warnings out. Yay.

I got the car repair bill, which is right at $875.00. ::gulps:: Yeah, that pretty much killed any hope I had of getting some other *necessary* house repairs done but oh well. The part that went bad was the injection assembly ($530) and the labor was $108. The towing from here to Hastings and running diagnostics came to $176.15. And there was one additional gasket(?) that needed replaced as well (otherwise I would have had to take it right back for it to be fixed as well), so... yeah. Kinda steep, but the parts & labor are guaranteed for 1 year which helps. I just wish I could have gotten Sam to help me coax it to the shop in Hastings, that would have saved quite a bit. But sometimes things just can't be helped. Damn and double damn.

The one good thing is that I already had my utility bills paid, so that is one less worry for this month. The bad news is -- no chance to buy groceries other than milk, etc. and garden things to plant as intended. Meh. I also had to put my neuter/spay plans on hold indefinitely again which is a big worry in itself. But there's no help for it. And so it goes.
