First Post of the Month
Mar. 1st, 2009 06:00 pmWell, as you all know by now I survived the auction and all the family visiting that goes along with it. Fun, but sad all the same -- and very tiring as well.
Due to the large amount of *old* family photos, I am planning to scan them and set up a photobucket or maybe flickr account. Does anyone have any ideas, suggestions or preferences as to which of these is preferable? I know a lot of you have such accounts already, which is why I am asking.
I am tired so I will probably go to bed early.

Today's Post
Feb. 28th, 2009 11:14 pmWell, the auction is over. I got the books I wanted -- they didn't sell till almost the very end, so I had to miss out a lot of things that I would have tried for otherwise. Oh well, no biggie.
Much schmoozing w/family and friends. Lyn drove Aunt Lee down for the day, and she (Aunt Lee) headed straight for the action, got right there in the very front with her walker-chair (as opposed to a wheelchair) and "inspected" everything there was to see up close -- and of she couldn't see it, she asked to look at it. XD Love it!! There is a big plus to getting to be almost 99 years old; you can get by with anything you want because people will think you are majorly cool to be able to get around at all. ;) People of "ordinary" age are SOL though. ::snickers::
Afterwards, had supper at Garden Cafe w/Carol, Paul, Paul II, Jim and Cathy.
Maybe I will write more later. Right now I just want to sleep.

Today's News and Weather Report Redux
Feb. 27th, 2009 11:03 pmToday I actually got quite a bit done. Got a couple of bills paid, went to the auction preview and talked to family, went to lawyer, got my hair trimmed a bit (should have gotten more of a cut, maybe another time), got a few groceries, then visited w/aunt and uncle, and last of all, went out to eat at Hunan's w/Carol, Paul, and Paul II (which is why you should never name a child Junior, unless you are prepared to call said child Junior forever). It started snowing just as we went in to eat and when we came out, there was quite a lot on the ground, maybe two inches or so. So I came straight home instead of hanging out longer with them as I had intended. It's still snowing too.

Today Is Cold
Nov. 30th, 2007 11:18 amYes, *very cold*, and icy weather to start this afternoon/evening. Oh. Yay. ::le sigh:: At least I am settled in with goodies etc., and it is supposed to move through here fast and we will have nicer weather starting Sunday.
Went to Jack and Rose R.'s auction today. Outside of a Farm Credit rep and the auction clerks, I was the only woman there. Heh, the story of my life. So sad, no more land being held in the R. name. The details: (Union?) NE 1/2 SE 1/4 33-9-7 [Hamilton Co.] started at $1500 and sold for $2650 to Russell Kreutz. Cheaper than I expected but not bad for a dryland 80. Would have liked to bid myself to keep it in the family but I have another piece I've been watching and which will probably be coming up in the next year. So, we shall see.
Meantime, I am off to see if the paycheck has been deposited. Back later on.
