Grande Galerie des Glaces

The weather was a lot nicer than it has been for over a week so I went to Hastings to run some overdue errands.

First of all, I went and got my new glasses. I have to admit I really like them -- especially the frames; I think they are the best fit in *cough* many years *cough*. Of course I am still getting used to them and they might need some adjusting but if today is any indication, there should be little problem.

Today was spent running errands. Ugh. I had to drive and with the high winds, it was *not fun*! >:( Unfortunately, it was necessary. Ah well. I called Matt A. to help me catch up with the lawn. It was just getting super-high and my push mover was really struggling with what I had mowed just a few days ago, even though I had it on the highest setting. So, time to call in someone with a heavy-duty rider mower.

The winds have been way high, gusting to over 40 mph. ::eyeroll:: So far no storms though.

I finally managed to hook up an old keyboard to the XP, only to discover that the on-screen keyboard is *still* enabled. The new keyboard simply would not hook up and when I checked the connection, the tiny little prongs were bent and twisted. (Since it's been several days, it is automatically my fault.) Fuck it. I do not need this fucking bullshit. This is what happens when you live in the middle of nowhere. If I lived in town, I could have just called the guy to come over when I first had trouble hooking back up. I took it apart (it's a desktop) and I will donate it to some charity.

Today it rained off and on all day. *sigh*

So, I messed with my computer for several hours because it was being a hoor, finally got online -- and then I wrote some.

Oh, and I took a much needed nap. *sighs*
