Well, I had a guy who was supposed to help me do some heavy lifting over at my mom's today. We went over there and I showed him where the attic was (and the attic door, a trap ceiling really) was partly down. So he goes in the room, looks up there -- and just about knocks me over when he hears 'hissing' in the attic.

Yeah, it appears we either have raccoons or opossums (or both, *shudder*) up there. I guess I should have told him to bring along a 22, eh? Because seriously, I am not going to deal with damned varmints like that -- no freakin' way. And while I can use a 22, the attic space is very hot, dark and *damned* tight quarters, so I will probably have to hire some sort of exterminator to come in. *SIGHS* Yet something else I did not need to deal with, and I blame the people who kept refusing to give me a serious bid of any sort on roof repair. >:(

So, after he gave me a ride to Hastings and back (so I could get some needed supplies out of storage), I ened up doing more yard work/gardening/re-potting plants. I also got a wee bit too hot as well but at least the mosquitoes weren't too bad. Otoh, it was midday when they are usually less active, so... we shall see...

Back later on.

The weather is just gorgeous out today: nice and warm with just a teeny bit of wind. So I decided to try and get some gardening started. Though I will probably just end up and read a book and drink some tea instead, lol.

I have a small blueberry bush to plant, some flowers, and of course, a small start of a rose bush. We shall see what happens. I need to get the garden ready but that is going to be a major project.

I got the cleaning finished! :D Well, as finished as it will get this year, which is saying a lot. I still have a ton to do, but right now I have a garage again! Or at least enough room so I can get a lawnmower inside (and locked up!) *and* be able to reach garden tools and other good things like that. I am so glad that Summer and Mark actually *came back*; I mean, they showed up for the second day -- because you have absolutely no idea how often I have heard "sure we'll come back to help" only to have it never happen. So tomorrow is clear and free, which makes me happy and relieved. I hate it when people have to work on holidays. So this was a blessing a day early! :)

I also got two batches of laundry done and drying, so this was a very "get things accomplished for a change" day for me.

Once again, my entire body is aching and stiff -- though it did loosen up some. *stretches and yawns* I plan on taking a very long bath tomorrow, and see if that helps. Tonight I was just too tired, plus I took some meds to help keep some of the worst twitching at bay. Besides, the furkids don't mind if I smell as long as the food is on time. XD

Niters everyone!

Well, it looks like I was successful with yesterday's prank. [vbeg] :;waves:: I am so pleased -- I usually don't manage it.

And a belated Happy Birthday to dear Mel -- such a sweet boy. :)

One of my sibs is expecting (for real and true this time), so everyone please send her positive vibes so that she has her baby this Easter Sunday. O:)

Today I actually had help with cleaning, thanks to Summer and her new husband Mark, so much was accomplished. I have to admit that I am very unused to this; I usually have to try and work alone, which is hard. They are coming back tomorrow and also Sunday afternoon(s), so I might get things done for a change. [I hate to cut into Easter weekend like that but there are times when it can't be helped. :( I honestly do make an attempt to try and keep weekends -- especially religious holidays -- open for family and visiting but that's just how it goes. *sigh*] Meanwhile, I am just so tired from all the outdoor work that it is unreal. Every bone and most of the muscles are now stiff and/or sore, so I am either limping or staggering around the house. Fortunately the furkids are adept at avoiding things that are considerably bigger and clumsier than they are, which is a very good thing. The feeling of accomplishment is great though.

It was nice today but windy, which made the temps about 20 to 30 degrees cooler than yesterday. Sheesh! And working in wind always makes my ears ache too. Ugh.

Back later on, probably.

Well, I cat-napped a little bit. Plus paid a humongous amount to the insurance company for Mom's place -- worst of all, it's only for six months. I simply must try and change that as soon as I can get it looking better on the outside at least. *sigh*

Since it was nice out, I tried to do some cleaning. At least the porch is on it's way to being "de-catted" because all of the little monsters were camping there this winter and while I love them dearly, there were just way too many in a small space. They are mostly outside now though but they still sneak in when possible.

I indulged and bought a new purse after I managed to leave my wallet at home and didn't discover it until I had already driven into Hastings. Yeesh! So... it's not quite what I want but it will do for now. I need to get a heavier one and the ones I looked at were insanely high (over $60!!) and just not tough enough for all the banging around my purses get. *sigh* I need to just go ahead and get my old standby fixed. It really just needs a new zipper along the top...

Then there were the bills. Good grief! PO Box rent due, car insurance due, and some other stuff. I have enough to cover them but still, the bills just seem to keep rolling in out of nowhere. =( Of course, I am having to pay a guy to mow and haul stuff away in Hastings but that is really unavoidable. Not to mention he has a truck, and kids to help him which are all bonuses. The yard is looking much better with the lawn being mowed, branches trimmed and hauled off, so that City can't get on me too much. He's mowing "as needed" because I cannot afford to drive to Hastings every day and check how long the grass is. It's sort of an honor system (I do drive in at least once a week to eyeball it before going to see Aunt) but so far he's been straight with me. I'm paying him cash but he gives me a receipt, so that's ok. As long as there is a receipt, that's fine. He's also going to help clear out the shitty couches and paneling that Jesse left in the garage, which will probably cost me another $70.

No other news for now.
