Grande Galerie des Glaces

Not much more news except that from Monday on, the weather will be icky. Yuck. I suppose I need to break down and go to a commercial laundry, if only so I can wash the sleeping bag and use the dryer. I never had the dryer in my house connected to start with, and now there is so much *ahem* "stuff" in front of it that I couldn't get the door open anyway -- plus there would be a connect fee because it is a gas dryer, and my gas bill was high enough last month.

And before I forget -- I discovered the reason (I think so, anyway) why my gas bill was so high -- the porch door has some serious draft problems, which I have temporarily solved by stuffing cardboard around the door jamb. =( Yes, that bad. Now I just have to try and scavenger up some heavy-duty nails or tacks -- plus a hammer -- so that it will stay in place. Of course, the real reason I did it was to give the porch cats (also known as the "Y", since they are toms) a nice scratching post. Oh yeah, my house is truly run for the convenience and comfort of the furbeings. (The former mom-cats are currently recuperating nicely in my other bedroom, which is now known as the nunnery.)

And last but hardly least, I know what sort of job I want -- I only need to find out how to serve an apprenticeship so I can join the ASC. Heh heh, should be easy to do, yeah? But seriously, if I could get half of the weird stuff that happens around here (usually to me!) on film, I'd be rich.
