Grande Galerie des Glaces

For some reason, I keep losing the signal. Maybe it has to do w/the cold and wind chills? ::shrugs:: Not sure *why* it would affect dsl but since it's through the cable company, who knows? So this is to let whoever may cruise on by that I am ok, keeping warm, have plenty of food & water for me and the furkids. Time to go into hibernation mode again. I did get out long enough to check mail and grab a few more groceries and a Powerball ticket. It's not like I'll win or anything but if you don't play, you can't win. So I bought a ticket. Would have been nice if I could have gotten to Hastings to buy one too but oh well. I didn't leave the house until afternoon, mostly because I wanted to wait until the warmest part of the day and also because I got sidetracked watching tv. Days like today usually find me vegging in front of the History, Discovery or Travel Channels if I'm not watching TCM, A & E, or one of the sports networks--usually ESPN. Though today I did remember that 'Miami Vice' was on TVLand, so I watched it. I never watched it much when it was on at first -- Mom liked to watch 'Dallas' and 'Falcon Crest', and I was usually busy w/college stuff. Yes, it's true. I did graduate from college, a four-year one, and I have the bachelor's degree to prove it. Hell, it's even *signed*! So yeah, I suppose I am bragging a bit. Even though now I wonder why I even bothered -- the one job offer I had, the folks freaked out so fucking bad I just backed out (to my eternal regret). Now I'm essentially out of the job market, since no company wants to hire someone who's fat, frowzy and over forty. Feh. Sorry peeps, I just tend to get a little bitchy now and then. My bad. Well, I'm going to go ahead and get this ready to post, just as soon as the dsl kicks back in. *le sigh* Damn. Oh yeah, before I forget... I saw Brian Carter today. His case worker brought him and his roommate from the half-way house in Lincoln here so he could visit some of his old friends. I have to admit I didn't recognise him at first. He looked really good; a decent haircut, nice clothes and most of all, he was *clean*! No more weird smell. I told him about Helen, which was kind of a shock for him. Of course, no way that he could have known but I figured that either Jolene or maybe Linda would have told him. Then again, maybe not if he didn't ask them specifically. But I gave him my cell number anyway and I have his, so I will have to remember to send him my new number when and if I get a different cell phone. Ok, this time I am going. I might decide to hook up my dvd player (or try to, anyway) and watch some of my dvds. If I could only find the instructions to it! I should be able to hook it up *and* the vcr, not just one or the other! Anyway... Later!
