Not Feeling Good

Well, I thought I was feeling ok but apparently not.

Just had a session of being sick, which was Not Fun. Ugh ugh ugh. I that wish my regular dr. was not on vacation but I think I might have to just go in anyway. Nothing all that serious but bad enough, y'know? And it's been getting iffier all the time... the thing is, I do not trust my insurance company *at all*; I am sure they will find a way to screw me.

What I think it is (and I know how drs. hate self-diagnosing patients but hey, I'm the one in here and I know what's probably wrong) is either GERD or a hiatal (sic) hernia. Not fun. And myy mom had it, so I probably do too.

I should write but I don't feel up to it now. Maybe later on though.

ETA: I still feel sick -- so not fun.

It's probably one or the other since my mom, her mother and my aunts (my mom's sisters) have all had it (or something very like it) too. Hopefully some medicine will work.

You are probably right with your self-diagnosis, but you need to go have everything checked out anyway, just to be sure. (FWIW insurance companies would gladly pony up their share for a doctor's visit than for an unexpected trip to the ER.)

Hugs. I have a haitus hernia (apparently)or did, years ago. I should go in to the doctor's anyhow, and have a check. Big hugs!

Oh ow. Do you take medicine for it? I know there are a lot of options now (iirc, that is.)

I used to take a medicine called Cimetidine; it's to basically make the stomach less acid so the acid dies not leak up into the esophagus, because with a hiatus hernia the little muscle that prevents that happening often does not close properly.
I was in terrible pain before (when I was about 24/25, I thought I was having heart problems.)
Now I am prescribed something called Pantaprazole which is basically the same kind of drug, but newer. It is not as bad as it was though, so maybe the hernia has healed somewhat.
