Wow - 1884! That fabric has held up amazingly! They really did a good job on preserving it. Beautiful dress.

This sort of thing always makes me feel happy. :) It's an amazing job of preservation, and I love that the family clearly treasures its history (their own and that of the dress) especially when you think of what can happen.
