Well, it looks like I will be moving here and using this as my "new" main journal. As far as I can tell, elJ is having more politically-motivated DoS attacks. I'm sorry to say that I just do not care to deal with that. I love elJ but when I spend the better part of a week unable to log on or even be able to read part of my list (I was only on for one hour today! *One* hour! That was just not long enough!) then it's time to make other arrangements. And silly me didn't even realize that anything was wrong until I tried to import here.

If anyone else wants any codes, I think I have a few that should still work. I hope!

Anyway, back later on.

ETA: I also cannot *import* content from the other site. Fuck. (I was annoyed; now I am angry.)

Oh I hope so! I had just read the new chapter of Ereolas (with the surprise guest :) and I was trying to comment when it went down. But I loved the chapter! Especially the mad little babies! (R. is still very protective of O., isn't he? Sorry I can't remember their full names here; my bad.)

You'll be able to import without a problem once LJ has solved its DDoS problem. It's OK and it will work out, it's just very frustrating.

Well, I hope so. But during one of the failed import attempts -- or *something* -- elJ decided to disconnect me, and now it is not accepting my password, and it is timing out before I can manage to *change* the password to something new. GAH!!!

You should be able to import once the DDoS attack is over.

I'm just irritated that it was 2 days before they could reveal it was a DDoS attack. My first thought? "Thank you, Captain Obvious." And paid account holders better be getting some sort of compensation.

I was using LJ for fannish endeavors mostly, so I'm not sure how well it will work to move for me. :/

The only good thing is that I don't have a paid account. I have often wanted one but it is at times like this when I am glad I don't.

There is a fair (ok, *large*) amount of overlap between fan and real-life for me; mostly because this is such a small area that there is literally no-one else around who shares my fannish interests. And while I am not exactly friendless irl, it is certainly an isolated existence. ::apologies for the whine::
