Today I had mixed results. Because I did not want to deal with another round of watching her dance the pill on her tongue, I decided to put it in her gooshy food. Which was not the best idea either because she did not want to eat her gooshy food either -- maybe because I had to microwave it after being in the fridge? maybe she doesn't like microwaved food? No idea, but I think it melted -- but she did get some of it, I hope. I really can't tell but I am assuming that if it melted she might have gotten *some* because she did eat a little bit but only after faffing around quite a bit. *SIGH*

The ear mite drops were not met with approval either. Neither of my kittehs liked them, and there was much flouncing, scowling and head-shaking afterward. At least I only have to do the ears on a daily basis until next Tuesday; then I only have to do it every other week.

Stay tuned for more thrilling news of my madcap life...

Your cat sounds exactly like our dog. He must be able to smell the pills because he will eat *around* them if they are in his food. The only way we can ever get him to take any is to buy a fresh cream cake like a chocolate eclair and give him a bit with the pastry and cream (not the chocolate, as I have heard it is not good for dogs, though probably a bit would not hurt.) Billy loves goat's milk which we give him sometimes as it's more digestible than cows milk for him, and if he smells cream his tongue does a Scooby-do right around his chops. So we hide the pill in the cream and it does not touch the sides! I learned that after trying to put an antibiotic inside cheese, chicken, pate, and was desperate! But at least he ate it!

I have no idea what I can hide it in so I am trying just to give her the pill and *then* feed her. She's "too old" for dairy but I might get desperate. *sighs* We shall see...

Have you tried a pill gun?

My 18-year old kitteh takes five (5) pills a day, and I've found the pill gun to be a godsend. She did resist at first, but now it's so much a part of her daily routine that she actually comes when I call her so we can get it over with. (Of course, it helps to have a bag of treats at the ready. *wink*)

Even if the pill is too small to fit inside the rubber grip at the end, you can always remove the plunger and use the empty chamber to slide the tablet in to the back of the cat's throat.

Good luck!

I might have to get one of those. Thanks for the tip. :)
