Ok, so I went into Hastings for a new cell phone. Guess what? It's fucked up. Big surprise, eh? It figures. I went to a different store since Radio Shack moved way the hell north on 281. I fuckin' hate that weird-ass traffic, plus their new parking sucks. It's awkward and... well, you get the idea. So, I went in, bought it and asked them to activate it for me. After 20 minutes of trying, the clerk finally was told that the phone was defective. So we went to Customer Service, I got a different one, brought it home and tried to activate it oneline. Big surprise--the codes either don't come up at all or are listed as invalid. FUCK IT!!! I am not going to deal with this anymore. I don't care what they say or offer, I am not fucking dealing with it again. The weird thing is, almost everything else I have ever bought from there has been fine, even including the radios, phones, etc. I am taking back tomorrow and asking for my money back on the phone. It just isn't worth it. I *never* had this trouble at RS, so I am going there again. Buy a phone and have *them* activate it for me. Actually, I think the problem with this one is that they were sent the wrong type of phone in the first place because certain models don't work in this area and cab't be registered. (I know, I know.) I've asked about other models that looked similar, and that was what I was told each time. Plus, when I was trying to set it up, the map indicated that the "local" area for the phone was Omaha/Lincoln and Council Bluffs, and that anything outside of the area is 'roaming'. So it's a pretty good bet that the company screwed up. I also don't like the overall plan as well, cause I have to buy special overseas minutes for Canada *and* Mexico, which I never had to do before.
