Well, we have snow. Again. It's actually coming down pretty good, tbh and we will probably get the 5"+ that was predicted. LeeAnn has been out once, got snowed on and is now curled up on the couch, snoring. Heh. She's usually all "I Need Out Right Now" several times a day (like 2x/hr., I swear!), so when I let her out -- mostly to bark at cats and other assorted furry creatures -- I let her faff around while I do dishes or put groceries away, or something like that. Well today she ended up being snowed on, and she came straight in w/o me having to call and coax for several minutes. She hasn't begged to go out since then.

ETA: Want to know the real difference between cats and dogs?

Dogs are most content when sleeping on your dirty laundry while cats prefer to sleep on *clean* laundry, preferably laundry that is warm and just out of the dryer. Both cats and dogs prefer sleeping on whatever will pick up/show the most hair.

My dog hates going out in the snow while it is falling but will play in it for ages when it is settled on the ground. I am sure she thinks the stuff that falls is different to what is on the ground.

My little gal will go outside but first she looks and me and barks, like she wants me to make it stop -- if only!

There's also a huge difference in how they show happiness. Dogs show it with as much noise and motion as possible. Cats, on the other hand, are only noisy when something isn't going their way.

My oldest cat shows her disapproval by sitting beside me on the desk and *staring*; if that doesn't work, then she starts grooming herself and spits little tufts of fur on the keyboard... >.

Totally agree with you about dogs and cats sleeping on laundry. When I was still living with my parents the cat we had loved to sleep on the washing we'd just brought in from outside - we always put my father's work overalls on the top as it didn't matter if cat hair got on that :)

My cats love to sleep on the ironing pile - their version of 'ironing'. Doesn't really work, though :P

As for the dog, if I happen to have any dirty laundry on top of the washing machine, she'll try and pull them down so she can sleep on them.
