The Rules: Don't take too long to think about it. Fifteen authors (poets included) who have always influenced you and will always stick with you. List the first 15 you can recall in no more than 15 minutes, and they don't have to be listed ...in order of relevance to you. Tag at least 15 friends, including me, because I'm interested in seeing what authors my friends chose. I'm tagging you... yes, you!

1. Shakespeare
2. Chaucer
3. Yeats
4. Keats
5. Byron
6. Shelley
7. M. Shelley
8. Wordsworth
9, 10, 11. Bronte sisters
12. Austen
13. Dickens
14. Milton
15. Tolkien
16. Lewis

Robert Frost, J R R Tolkien, Anne McCaffrey, Mercedes Lackey, Traci Harding, Louisa May Alcott, Lewis Carroll, Isaac Asimov, Bram Stoker, Mr Webster (and his dictionary),... can't think of any more.

I suck at this. *g* There's one story I read when I was a kid, I have no idea who the author was, or what the story was called, but I remember the kids in the story were in a little wood and they made baked apples in a camp oven and there was something about a beach in there too. If anyone knows and can give me the title of that book, I would be so grateful!

We actually have quite a few authors in common, lol -- though you wouldn't really guess it from my list.

I hope you can find that story someday. Have you asked at [community profile] whatwasthatbook?

You went for the high-brow list, did you? *g*

No, I haven't, because I never heard of that comm before!

It's more like I was a very precocious reader and I was always reading "outside" books during study hall and while teachers might confiscate a romance or light fic (back in those days, they did, believe me!) none of them would dream of telling you not to read any of the classics -- especially Shakespeare [g].

Good luck with finding your story at the comm; they're very helpful. There is a sister comm as well: [profile] whatwasthatone
