Do you judge a book by its cover? Do you judge a cover by its book? Here are some very different covers to some of my favourite books. Which of these do you like best and why? Which intrigues you most and would make you most likely to pick up the book? Have you read any of the books, and does that change your opinion any?

Some of mine are under the cut. Enjoy.

1. Alice in Wonderland

2. Casino Royale

3. The Shining

4. Ulysses

5. The Silmarillion

6. Brokeback Mountain

7. Smoky the Cow Horse

Alice: I would definately go for book one. The intricate pink design is to die for! Favorite book! Never seen that pink cover tho.

Casino Royale: Number 2. Slinky lady in dress always wins. Love this book. I own that cover so maybe I'm biased.

The Shining: Book 3 THE ALL SEEING EYE. Good book! The eye is creepy.Gotta love it.

Ulysses: The blue cover. NGL it'd wink at me across a room and I'd go check it out. Have yet to read it. Excited though! I actually want to find this cover now.

Silmaril....howeveritsspelled: I would go for book three. Reminds me of a Wyeth painting. Haven't read it. That cover is sweet though.

Brokeback Mountain: Number one. Looks nice and literary. Havent read it. But I'll pick up that copy.

Smoky: book one. The blue and simple sketch makes me think of pleasant westerns. Haven't read it, that cover would convince me.

I love how similar the Alice designs can be, yet so different. :)

I do judge books by their covers, and the first few sentences of the summery :( I like pretty pictures lol

Covers do play a big role. I don't always read the summary though; a lot depends on the author.

All of the Alice covers are interesting. Oddly, I can't find my copy and so I can't be sure of it's cover.

I judge books by their covers - to me a boring cover might mean a boring read.

Covers are a major selling point. Though I still tend to like "basic" covers myself; that way, my mom never complained about them being too 'sexy'. ;)
