Today's Errands
Feb. 3rd, 2010 09:43 pmI went to Hastings to buy some much needed items (cedar shavings for litter mostly) and pretty much blew the small budget I had for the month's groceries on buying groceries. [Though not the cedar shavings -- that I keep $20 in a special envelope marked just for that little item.] So now, it is just a matter of waiting for the weather to clear up.
MTC...
I went in late today (mostly so I could double-check the noon weather report) because sure enough, they are predicting bad weather starting at midnight tonight/tomorrow and running through 6 am Friday morning -- they *think* -- we'll see. ::is cynical:: So I went straight in and snagged some groceries etc. and came straight back because at 3pm, we were getting a very fine mist. And let me tell you, it doesn't take long *at all* before the roads turn slick once it starts getting later. Actually it can be nasty-slick in the early afternoon, which can really mess things up because it's still *day*, and that can fool a lot of drivers. (Yes, it's happened to me a time or two as well.)
I did manage to stop downtown and check at the bookstores (new and used) just to see if either place might have a copy of one of the books in the 'Kushiel' series. (They didn't.) So I kept my special little envelope tucked away; maybe the next time I can get to GI, I can find a copy. However, a trip to GI is very iffy with the rotten weather we are having.
Oh, and when I aired up my tire at the Co-op this morning, I managed to see just where my front tire is losing air -- right on the "face" of the tread. Ah yes, nothing like driving through mud to air up and then watching air bubble out of the tread. ::eye roll:: I'm due for new tires anyway, which is going to cost another $400 +. >>.<< Just... yeah. Even the cheapest tire will run about $99 before tax, and x4? *SIGH*
In cheerier news, I am continuing to work on drabbles and "other things". Ahem, yes, yes indeed. ;)
