The one on the right is Cristabel Pankhurst. I am wondering if she is with her mother. Haven't seen a pic of Emmeline Pankhurst for years so I am not sure.
My great aunts were suffragettes - it came as a shock to me when they told me that women still did not enjoy equality even though we had the vote. I was a young child then. We had the vote but no equal pay at the time. Today, women are still taking legal action because men in equivalent jobs earn more, even though we supposedly have equal pay now.

Date: 2009-11-23 12:46 am (UTC)--I always love to hear stories like that. I wish I knew more of my family history but if there were, any chance of finding it out is long gone.
And yes, there is still no equality in pay (and a lot of other areas.)
