Halloween Movie meme

Once again, a 'modern' black and white classic. It's about as perfect as horror films get and it set an incredibly high standard for others to meet. Ok, an almost impossible standard for others to meet.
Here's a vid of the original, just because.
As for the 1998 remake... it should never have been made. Period. I mean *why*? If you're going to remake a film, remake something that needs improvement. Gus Van Sant should have known better. Bad director, bad -- no bikkit. Really, the only good things about the '98 remake are Viggo Mortensen, Julianne Moore and William H. Macy. Other than that -- I just *cannot* buy Vince Vaughn as Norman, he is totally wrong imho -- far too... well, *knowing*. And Anne Heche is downright ugly in this, which is sad because she can look much more attractive. {Even the music sounds wrong somehow -- go figure.}

Date: 2009-10-27 06:35 am (UTC)I did not see it til I was in my twenties for some reason, and by that time I had watched a few horror/slasher films.
Definitely did *not* need a remake.
