Even though it was a bit on the cool side, it was lovely out. Nice and sunny and just YUM! So I decided to go and visit my Auntie and Uncle in GI. Road construction *still* going on -- the east side of 281 *of course*, and it looked like Capital was kind of iffy too, so I took the cutoff between the malls. There was plenty of parking to be had at the nursing home though, so it was all good. I stayed about an hour and then left as I didn't want to hit Friday afternoon rush hour with the construction going on.

Earlier I stopped in Hastings to buy some more time on my phone -- I now have over 20 hrs. which should last me for quite awhile. I think they are going to have to put a light at the street that runs east of ACE Hardware though because those stop signs are just not up to all the traffic that feeds from the motel, the church and Ace on the west, and all of the traffic from (and to) 281 on the east -- because everyone but *everyone* is in such a f'n rush to get to the Evil Empire located a few "blocks" north of that intersection. Sheeesh!

I was going to go and look for more postcards but I forgot. Maybe next time? I stopped at the local good will and got a really nice cd/paperback shelf to use next to my desk. No idea exactly where or how I will set it up as it is still in the Blazer but I will get it out tomorrow. I also snagged a couple of books but nothing that I was specially looking for, darn. Back in Hastings I went and got a few groceries (I stocked up on kitty treats that were on special) and I got my 'old lady' her special food. (It's surprising how much is forgiven with the right noms, lol).

I have a couple of memes to post and then that's it for today.

Ahh you are so lucky to have had a nice day. Here it was off and on blizzarding, 30mph winds, and it's now 20 deg. It's gonna be a friggin long winter! I'd better schedule for new tires soon. And maybe I should invest in chains this year too!

I know -- what happened to fall? It's probably the last nice day for a loooong time. I think we are running about 30 degrees below normal for this time of year. I've had the feeling it was going to be a early, long winter -- chains are a good idea.

The part about rush hour got me laughing. We're sending you some snow tonight, so enjoy!

Rush hour does have a lot of little variations doesn't it? And thank you for the snow -- yes, it arrived. It's going to be a looong winter... ::shivers::

The weather has been nice here too - too sunny for the time of year but much appreciated.

Heh, it changed really fast after that post. Yesterday we had 2" of snow (North Platte had 18", a new record) and it is *cold*, as in about 30 degrees F below normal temps. ::shivers::
