It's banned books week; this isn't the complete list of banned and challenged books, but it's a taster of the most frequently banned and challenged within schools and libraries throughout the US. For more information visit the official banned books week website: http://www.bannedbooksweek.org/
Bold the books you've read & liked or loved
Strike the books you've read but didn't enjoy
Italicise the books you want to read
(optional: any books on this list you feel ought to be challenged? Tell us why!)
Too big for comments, feel free to repost.

Date: 2009-10-02 09:21 am (UTC)I think one of the predominate themes running through them however is that each one encourages you to look at the world in a different way, to perhaps, in fact...Think.
People who want others to think only like they do, feel threatened by them...as they should. I've only read maybe half...and I Think.
Lloyd Alexander, Zipha Snyder, Madeleine L'Engle...favorites of mine as I was growing up. Thank you for reminding me of them!
