News and Weather
Feb. 1st, 2007 11:09 pmIt was kinda nice today, a bit cool but nice. Or it was until about 4 pm, when we started getting snow flurries (again!) and below zero wind chills which should last for, oh, the next week or so.
Once more I have the furnace up to 70; I did have it turned back a bit but when the wind chills are pushing -20 below, then the furnace comes back up. Since the rest of the year, until last December, the gas bill was way low, like only about $50.00 since the usual house temp is about 60. I'm not planning to freeze though and all things considered, this is a necessity more than luxury. I know a lot of people who are running their furnace between 76-80.
My aunt from Omaha was visiting my aunt in Hastings, so I went up and visited for a little while. Aunt L came to attend an estate auction yesterday (Alice G.) and bought some things. I knew about the auction but didn't go. I would have *liked* to have gone but I'm trying to sell things myself. Besides, I have some pics which are enough for me. Also talked a bit w/Beth Noak/Novak (sic) who is the one who drove my aunt down here in the first place; she has offered to help me sort through what *might* remain of the things I had in storage, after the thieves have stripped damn near everything. Ok, enough now--I'm just talking myself into a bad mood. Again.
The furnace has clicked back on, so I am going to go and hibernate.
