Today Is Cold

la_samtyrAfter *yesterday* was just *gorgeous*, almost 50 out, today it got cold. And chilly. Yuck. :P So anyway, I got mail, etc. and LeeAnn got her daily ride.
Oh yeah, I had to let a county deputy in one for the rentals (I'm the lucky one who gets to take care of the keys, wouldn't ya know) so they could rescue 2 dogs and 3 cats (three other cats having apparently died in the meantime.) The place is an absolute *Pit*, in your worst dreams you could not imagine the wreck they have made of the place. *SIGH* I can't get too mad at them, cause they have severe mental/emotional problems that are exacerbated by alcohol abuse and most likely, prescription drug abuse as well. And weirdly enough, they are/were the only ones who actually *pay* on time. Of course, Yours Truly has been there right at the first of every month *before* they had a chance to spend it (being a secretary is *so* much fun!:P). If only they had paid their bills as well (here, the gas,lights and water are all billed separately)--but they let the utilities rack up to $600-$1000 *each* before the companies removed the services... This has been going on for quite awhile and finally Adult Protective Services stepped in and is going to help them. *I guess*. It's about time. These people should never be allowed to handle their own money; they just have no sense of its value. Though they never did keep it clean... it looks as if the only way to clean it is to take a blowtorch to it. Seriously! I don't even know if the place will be considered salvageable or not. It's mostly just bugs (up to and including fleas and lice no doubt in addition to roaches and who knows what else) but even so. Ewwww! And the dirt! I mean, there is the normal wear and tear dirt but this is far beyond that! Though there wasn't all sorts of engine/machine oil dripped around--otoh, how in the hell could you ever tell? ::Shakes head:: Seeing that mess did kill my appetitie though.
Back to the weather--there are wind advisories out 35+ mph winds and -25 below windchills. MTC... I think...
