About Today
May. 20th, 2009 09:40 pmI ended up calling the cable company once again, and they sent another tech out. Same one as yesterday, only this time they decided to replace the cable from the house to the pole. Naturally this meant he was in and out of the house, and my little dog was furious -- non-stop barking, combined with the full upper-lip snarling and growling and the neck hair raised. When I placed her on the couch to hold her by the harness, she kept dropping her head, which always indicates a readiness to attack. I hate to think what she would be like if she were a larger breed; otoh, I would probably find it easier to discipline her. But she is 9, and her age is more than her weight. Even her harness has been sized *way* down to fit her, there is more harness than dog, lol. She usually is pretty mellow but she did not like this guy, nor the one who came on Monday though he wasn't in the house as long. And really, it makes me feel better to know that even with her tiny size, she is intimidating to a stranger. Just because, y'know? At least all of the barking made her tired so that she has been dozing now.
*Sigh* I hope that this will fix things at last. The only good thing is that there have been several other similar problems reported in my area, which means it is not just me being weird and/or paranoid. I am now keeping a log of the times I am on/off-line and see if there is any sort of patten. Maybe it will help.
So, I have spent most of the afternoon and evening offline. I tinkered with a few ideas and things but I didn't get much actual work done writing-wise. Oh well.
I opened the windows today because it was so damned stuffy and yech-y in the house. Fresh air, yeah! :) And the kitties have been most appreciative of this, very few things are better than bird watching!
Baby continues to do well, though she is very frustrated by her cage. If I am lucky, perhaps I can clean the porch enough so that she can stay out there, as opposed to the cage. I'd let her loose in the bathroom but she's iffy about using a litter box in there (she does fine everywhere else), preferring to use the tub instead. And believe me, that is one freakin' hard stain to get rid of!
Ok, I may or may not be around later on. Hopefully I will be around a little bit tomorrow.

Date: 2009-05-21 03:13 pm (UTC)Should I mention that she loves her harness and is not happy to have it off? She runs to it and licks at it until I fasten it on every morning. I think it is her security blanket? Means of self-identification? And she is always happy and proud to go for walkies. ;) (Her tages are really medals, y'know.)
Why yes, I believe I will mention that. (And I did not make any of that up either.)

Date: 2009-05-21 03:22 pm (UTC)LeeAnn is getting old and set in her ways, and little dogs tend to be much more territorial than big ones. Since I don't plan on any SO's, it doesn't bother me.
