Fic Help Needed

Are there any groups -- or some kind person -- who can give some general help on a fic. (I can't seem to find any Brokie-oriented groups here but there ought to be some around, surely.) I'm still in the middle of a very rough draft, nowhere near ready for beta. I mostly need someone to look it over and make sure I haven't inadvertently absorbed too much of someone else's work. I really don't think I have but I'd like to be sure before I go much farther. It's a fairly dark fic, btw and a something of a crossover -- think RP's *very* thinly veiled as OC's and "Lords of Dogtown".

You can try posting your request for assistance on one of the communities (I think they allow such posts) or on the DC forum.

I think I've seen beta-specific links (?) listed on the Brokie comms but I can't find any of the posts that mentioned them. (I've gone back about 100 posts on each comm and if they're listed, I've missed it.)

Okay, I've tried the y-address this morning, but it bounces back. It could be yahoo's fault, since I've had numerous problems there before. I'll try again in a little while.

A couple of options: As coffeecat said below, you can post this same request on brokebackslash. Or you can post the story on your journal under a custom group and I'll happily read it over.

You can 'advertise' on brokebackslash for someone to comment on your rough draft. A beta may also be willing to look at rough drafts and/or offer suggestions. I'd certainly take up oceansbetween's offer because she's very good.
