News for Today

Gosh you'd think I could be more creative w/titles and stuff but I can't. So, today.

Letter from K. :) That alone has made it A Very Good Day.

It didn't get *quite* as hot as predicted but still super-hot. It was actually cool-ish last night; it felt so good and relaxing.... mmmmmmmm.

There was a combination bake/rummage sale and I went in order to get some fresh veggies and baked stuff. Also got a couple of "new" candle holders and a scented candle--why I don't know but they will probably turn into a present of some sort later on. I saw Ruth S. and Irene R.; also some of the local people. Times like these when I just show up so that people know I'm still here.

I also discovered that MamaKitty is a *fiend* for tomatoes, she started chowing on them as soon as I set the sack down. Damn but I was pissed at her! I guess it is a good thing I didn't have a garden this year because I think I would have had more problems w/the kitties chowing on stuff than I would have had w/the varmints (racoons, oppossums, skunks).

Brian Carter stopped by and I was *finally* able to give him my new phone number. He only stayed a few minutes because his ride had to be back in Lincoln before 7pm. He tried to make up w/LeeAnn but she wasn't having anything to do w/him; she actually growled and snapped which is very rare for her. She's usually pretty tolerant. But it was hot and she is always a bit crosser when it's hot. (At least that is the reason I told Brian. I really don't know why she acted as she did.)

Not a lot of news otherwise, so I am probably going to go and lie down in front of the fan for awhile.

You poor dear! I hate to gloat, but it didn't get much more than 75 deg here today! We've had torrential downpours the last couple of evenings, too! WooHoo!

But tomorrow it's supposed to get up to 90 again. >:( Hopefully we don't go over 100 anymore for the summer. Half a week in July was too many days of that misery!

I've noticed the rain you've been having. We've had some but I personally would like a little bit more--just not a whole lot, or all at once. It helps if I sit in front of a fan, wrapped up in a wet towel... way better than a/c.
