Question About Names
Jul. 10th, 2007 10:35 pmOk, since the tv is full of publicity re: the new HP movie, I just have to wonder... Assuming a child is born to a family whose last name is Potter: (a) how many kids born before 1997 have the name Harry and (b) how many kids born *after* 1997 were named Harry. Now in the case of (a), the kids are just going to have to deal with it, unless they decide to change their name. But in the case of (b), I wonder how many of those kids plan to disown their parents in another 8 years or so. Which leads to (c): how many kids are *planning* to change their name to Harry?

"There are quite a few real Harry Potters out there.so far i've heard of a newborn baby who actually has Harry's full name(Harry James Potter), a barrister in London,a grandfather who was very pleased that he had become cool in his grandchildren's eyes,a soldier who died in the second world war(i was sent a picture of his tombstone) and a clockmaker who worked in London in the last century."
parents can be cruel while giving names.but i doubt anybody would change their name to Harry Potter.then again who knows.

Date: 2007-07-11 11:39 pm (UTC)Being on the phone all day, I hear some horrible names: Jingle Bob, Easter Bunny, Peter Condom. Yes, those are legal names! Why these people never changed their names I'll never know.
So, being named Harry Potter isn't that bad after all. Mr Condom should seriously consider it!
