News of the Day
Jul. 9th, 2007 10:32 pmIt rained early this morning and was kinda gloomy all day. Didn't get much done except for phone calls and even then, not that much.
Letter from K.
Yesterday, I went to Hastings and got the fan fixed. It works great; it is so nice to have a working fan. I don't like window air conditioners because it's too easy for a break-in to occur. There *was* a setup for central air to be installed but it was never hooked up and I don't have the money to do it now. Besides, with the windows open, I can listen to what is happening outside -- always a good idea.
Donna called again last night. This time I could hear her fine (she said that the cell phone she had been using the night before had a low battery, and that was why she kept cutting out on me.) So we talked mostly about movies and books -- namely Stephen King, '1408' and 'Lisey's Story.' Oddly enough, she still hasn't seen PotC 3, which is made weirder because she was *always* after me to see the latest Johnny Depp film. Now, it's almost as if she doesn't care about his films. ::shakes head:: It's at times like these when I realise how much we've grown apart. There's so much I *don't* tell her; mostly about my life online, it's true. But still and all... we've definitely grown apart and although it does make me a little sad, it's a part of my life that's been outgrown, I guess. *le sigh* I do keep after her to get a computer but that's mostly so I can save my telephone minutes. Last night she talked damn near an hour!!! =( And when you figure most my calls are 2-5 minutes or less... for me, communication online is much simpler *and* cheaper, especially when talking to Canadian, Euro or Aussie sibs.
No other news. Time to go and sleep now.
