My Car Is Back! :)
Apr. 7th, 2007 08:28 pmSo, Shockey took Sam into Hastings to see if the Omni would start and sure enough, it did. Sam had to fix a clogged filter and ended up driving it home. I know that Shockey decided to take Sam to Hastings for the very simple fact that I had had to beg two separate rides to the store from him. [Yes, I can walk the six blocks and back but it's been freaking cold, with definite wind chills no matter what the weatheman says and I have been trying *not* to get sick. Even though I wrapped up, I still felt half-frozen walking back, the wind sliced straight through my gear. The temps are about half or less of what they should be and just... *damn*. Especially since last Monday was in the high 70's. Tonight the furnace is running like crazy even though I have it down to about 64-ish.] If there's one thing guys absolutely *hate*, it's driving women **anywhere** "to shop". There was just *no way* Shockey was going to keep giving me a ride downtown. Heh heh. Actually I knew Shockey would see Sam at some point (since Sam's answering machine doesn't work--at least not for my calls because why would he have a non-working answering machine when he needs to rely on one for his job? His wife and grandkids do not like me, which is weird because my mom adored his wife, she couldn't do enough for my mom. Now that Mom's gone, it's a whole different story.) *Anyhoo*, I was like 99% sure he would find Sam today and see if they could get the Omni to limp back home and if not, that I would definitely be going with Sam to find a car. He's going to go with me Monday am so I can do a little car hunting. No idea what I might get, just depends on the price range. I need a pickup so f'n bad it isn't even funny. I'll probably get a car of some sort though. But maybe, just maybe...
In other news, one of the kittens died. I feel bad about it but even I cannot raise a less than day-old kitten (or thereabouts anyway) on a bottle. NewMama didn't reject it at first, so... ::shrugs:: Sometimes these things just happen. And five kittens are plenty as it is, especially with the probability of another blessed event or two. I am *so* going to be in debt to the vet forever--too bad they don't do the indentured servant thing anymore.
