Today's Update
Oct. 9th, 2004 08:31 pmI visited w/Mom at the hospital. She has very bad laryngitis (sic) and can barely speak past a whisper. When I got there, Aunt Arlene was there ahead of me. She is *so* deaf but refuses to admit it or even consider getting a hearing aid. Would someone please explain to me *why* people have little or no hesitation about getting glasses/contacts and later on, dentures but absolutely *freak* at the mention of a hearing aid? It is quite beyond my ability to comprehend. I admit it, I'm a dummy.
Had to go to WalMart in order to pay phone bill before Monday. :p At least this month the regular office is expanding hours. I waited and waited in line for my turn while other people were ordering cell phones and choosing their plans--I bet I waited over a half-hour. Then when I got there, I learned I needed the actual paper bill in order to pay which I have basically quit carrying since the main office doesn't use them anymore. Luckily I had it but it was in the car, so I had to trek back to the parking lot and get it. At least I didn't leave it at home! Then the lady who was in line behind me and who had moved up to take my place when I had to go get the bill was nice enough to let me cut in again so I could pay my bill. That was really sweet of her; so often people make you wait regardless. So that was one nice thing to happen today.
And more stuff...
I discovered that I'm basically getting conned out of some money that is owed me--$300.00 to be exact. I am pissed and intend to have it out w/a certain *Ms.* Diane S. I knew she was going to do it-I had about 2 weeks advance warning-and when she didn't pay up on the 5th I thought she was going to pull this shit. Well, she's gonna get surprised.
Btw, for anyone reading this--if you rent, for pity's sake pay your rent **on time**! It makes the landlord much easier to deal w/ and probably more willing to make repairs, not to mention making *your* side of any potential court argument that much stronger. Oh yes, and one other major point--please don't "acquire" dogs from Baskerville Hall Kennels. Dogs that imitate giant termites do not endear you to landlords either.
