So That Happened
Mar. 2nd, 2022 06:00 pmYesterday morning, I went to go online and discovered that my computer connection. "Internet outage", the recording claimed. I shrugged, figuring it would be soon resolved. Hint: It wasn't.
Multiple calls gave no new reply, which was... weird. Between calls and running errands, I was still offline at 6pm. I figured I would just sleep on it and start fresh this morning -- though I was severely annoyed by this point (ok, ok -- I was in a state of major pissoff) and when I woke up this morning, nothing had changed. A few more calls to the main line resulted in the same recording, so I finally called a repair tech for help.
To make a long story short, apparently when I logged off around 1am om March 1st, the "service" suddenly decided it no longer recognized my computer as a customer. (I've had the same service/provider for over 10 years at the same address, so wtf-ever, computer weirdness). It took awhile, and the tech had to set up a "new" account and do a hard reset, but I am back online!
And yes, I was very nice and patient with the tech. Having spent a few years in fast food/retail/customer service back in the day, I know just what they deal with and I try to cut them a break. In my very humble opinion, everyone should spend a few years working those jobs -- they'd learn a. lot.
