How Cold Is It Today?
Dec. 22nd, 2008 04:02 pmWell, let's just say that when I went to warm up the car, there was still a heavy coating of ice (not heavy frost, but *ice*) on the hood. I turned on the ignition and came back inside for 15 minutes or so to let the engine warm. When I went out, the ice was still on the hood -- no melting at all. I drove downtown and let it idle while I went in after mail, groceries and a quick stop at the bank. Altogether, I was probably busy for about a half hour. And the ice did not melt *one bit*, though I did manage to chip a bit of it off around the edges. Not sure what the wind chill is but I can definitely feel it even inside the house. I have now turned the furnace up a little bit more because *damn.*
