Oh Fuck Part 2 :(((

Poor Barbaro. It sounds even worse than even *I* thought. :~(

Surgery for Barbaro began shortly after 12:30 p.m. Eastern time on Sunday at the University of Pennsylvania's New Bolton Center in Kennett Square, Pa.

Barbaro was taken to New Bolton on Saturday night, hours after suffering multiple fractures in his right hind leg.

On Saturday, it was announced that Barbaro had a fracture to the cannon bone above the ankle, and to the long pastern bone below the ankle. Shortly before the surgery on Sunday, Dr. Dean Richardson said there were additional, serious injuries.

Specifically, Richardson said Barbaro also had a fractured sesamoid bone, and that the right hind ankle was dislocated at the fetlock joint. Richardson said he expected the surgery to take more than three hours.

Laundry, Moving Furniture and Other Fun

I managed 2 loads of laundry (one was towels only) and got things lined up so that when the help came to move stuff out for me, I'd be ready. I was ready at 1pm. They showed up at 6pm. *sigh* At least now I have one of the couches and a recliner moved out. I hated to give up that couch, it slept better than the one I sleep on now. Maybe I can figure something out after the company has been here.

Kitten news: They are still sneaking out on the porch, and LeeAnn goes into a frenzy of barking. I hope I can set up one of the *big* cages so that I have someplace to put them. As it is, I put a "gate" over where they were crawling out. LeeAnn can hear 'em but they aren't going to drive her (and me!) nuts w/the yapping. I found out there are *two* gray ones, both w/tails ( male and female, I think) and the black one w/o a tail is a female. I didn't see the little tabby, and I'm afraid it might have died. I hope not but I waited to see if it crawled out w/the others and it didn't. Damn. But they've been in the most impossible place for me to get to (I still can't reach back there) so I guess it's just a bad break. :( Ok, time to call it a night 'cause I've got lots more cleaning to do tomorrow. Niters!
