Snow *and* Below Zero Wind Chills
Feb. 13th, 2007 10:01 amYeah, you read that right. There's probably 4-6 inches of snow on the ground and we have -20 wind chills. I let LeeAnn outside this morning for literally one minute (or just as long as it took to start the coffee maker) and she was so chilled she could barely climb back inside the house! Though in truth it might have been the depth of the snow as well, the snow is about level ith her back. =( I was only about 6 ft. away, too! I mean, I went and let her out, came back in and got the coffee started, turned on my laptop and went back to let her in--that simply does not take that long. (I should explain that the porch is adjacent to the kitchen, so when I let her out I open the kitchen door to the porch, three steps to open the outside door from the porch, etc. etc.) She is fine though; she had a wonderful time barking and chasing the cats, who sneaked in the house from the porch so that I could chase them down and toss them back on the porch. Even as cold as it is, the porch is still about 40, it is dry and the kitties have assorted caves and blankets to curl up with, so they are fine. Really. Once again LeeAnn has made a "cave" of pillows and is tightly curled nose to tail--as are my cats--so it's a safe bet that I won't be going anywhere today, even though the sun is peeking out.
