About Today

la_samtyrYes, I'm still here, kinda wiped out from writing my little fic I guess 'cause I have been bone f'n tired ever since. Yikes! Not good. Of course, there is also a little thing called stress that might be part of it as well. Ok, a lot of it. Anyhoo...
So I went to Hastings yesterday and bought a "back-up" phone in order to get the battery for the one that died. The replacement battery was over $40, buying an identical phone only $20. So... when I get home, I discover that the new battery isn't charging either. Upon investigation, I discover that *someone* (And I do mean *someone*, not one of the furkids) has unscrewed the adapter from the plug-in, which means that not only was *someone* in my house but also that the battery in question was probably ok in the first place. So now I have a back-up phone that I don't really need (and which I might as well activate anyway, just in case) but I also need to call a locksmith and have some major lock changing done. Oh joy.
I also stopped to visit my aunt in Hastings yesterday. She is ok (let's face it, she's 93, in her own home and in her right mind [more or less], so "ok" is as good as it gets) and naturally full of questions about what I've done, who I've seen/talked to, etc. etc. Honestly, she should have been an attorney! She can think of more damn questions to ask... and she always seems to ask questions about people I scarcely know--or met only once or twice when I was 4--how the hell do I know how to answer such questions? ::shakes head:: The legal world lost a great trial attorney when she didn't go on to college.
Right now I am fixing lunch. Today's menu--soup, w/brownies for dessert.
