Date: 2022-05-11 06:46 pm (UTC)My cousin gave me a child's version of "Misty of Chincoteague". It was a large, oversized book and my mom put it up at some point. I hope that it hasn't been stolen.
11. Secondhand bookshop gem.
Sindbad and Me by Kin Platt. It's rather dated in some ways now but it's a really good story. The new 'reprints' are very poor quality though and not worth buying.
30. Would save if my house burned down.
As much of my Tolkien collection that I could grab! :)

Date: 2022-05-11 06:55 pm (UTC)The Flight of the Horse by Larry Niven. I think it would be a great mini-series if done right. Just make it equal parts fantasy/steampunk and you'd have a winner!

Date: 2022-05-11 07:40 pm (UTC)That would be my Tolkien collection. I have multiples of The Hobbit, LoTR and the Silm but everything else is a bit iffy. Of course, there are quite a few books packed in storage, so there is that. :)
14. An old favorite.
David Copperfield by Charles Dickens. Ok, so this is probably influenced by the 1935 film but still. :)
16. Can't believe more people haven't read.
Flying Cloud by David W. Shaw. "In 1851, navigator Eleanor Creesy set sail on the maiden voyage of the clipper ship Flying Cloud, traveling from New York to San Francisco in only eighty-nine days." Notice that the navigator is a *woman*. Yet another piece of our history that is sadly overlooked.
21. Summer read.
I haven't chosen one yet this year, so please feel free to recommend something! :)
And yes, please feel free to borrow. :)
