I went to the dr. last Friday because I wanted some really good cough medicine for my allergies or maybe a summer cold. Since I was a walk-in (unscheduled appointment) I had to wait for about 2 hrs. but hey, life, y'know. No worries on my side. Though I doubt if the other patients were very thrilled to listen to me, since it sounded like I was trying to cough up a lung. *sighs*

After a round of labs (drawing blood to run assorted tests on it) and a couple of chest x-rays, everything came back 'good'. In other words, no pneumonia and no other 'bugs'. But I do have a nasty case of bronchitis due to allergies or whatever. Weirdly enough, this is depressing for me. It makes me feel like I am just a hypochondriac and a bum who is wasting the dr.'s time. Oh well. But the cough syrup he gave me is really strong and makes me want to sleep, so there is that. At least I am getting some rest because my 'crazy cough' can make it nearly impossible to sleep.

So hopefully I can catch up on responding to comments, etc. in the next day or so.

I had bronchitis like that once, Sam, and it does make you very down and depressed. My nan always said chest infections made you tired and sad, and I think she was right, and you shouldn’t feel you were wasting anyone’s time, as you couldn’t have got that cough medicine just over the counter, probably

Anything that bothers you enough to go to see the doctor is important. I hope your medications are working enough to allow you some rest and rehab.

Bronchitis is nothing to play around with. It can lead to pneumonia, as I know from personal experience. My allergies have led me to bronchitis, pneumonia, strep throat, and ear, nose, and sinus infections. Getting allergy shots have made a huge difference in my life, but I know I'm still vulnerable. Definitely see a doctor for any bronchitis symptoms. I hope you feel better soon!
