And So It Goes
Dec. 1st, 2016 08:00 pmToday started with a whimper. When I woke up, I discovered that I couldn't log on. The whole system was down 'indefinitely.' So I went in to Hastings early and stopped for gas.
At Russ's (a local supermarket and deli) I had breakfast, then did a very small load of wash at the laundromat. From there I went to the Y so I could put my swimsuit in my locker. I also discovered that Saturday will be a swim meet @ the Y, which is good to know because oh wow, the traffic jams when there is a swim meet! Yikes!
It was just after noon by then, so I drove over to my dr. office and checked in early. My appointment was @ 1:45pm but I don't mind waiting since I always have a book with me. (Also, it is much too easy to get caught up with 'retail therapy' *coughs daintily*.) I got lucky and saw him early (before 1pm) and he decided to do a flu test just to be safe -- which came back NEGATIVE! I DO NOT HAVE THE FLU! I just have my usual weird cold & cough that sounds like... well, it sounds *nasty* (as if I am about to cough up a lung) and can freak people out really fast. He gave me an Rx for super-heavy duty cough syrup plus an antibiotic and sent me on my way.
I went to the pharmacy, picked up my scrips (aka Rx's) and settled the bill (all paid through next year, yay!) and decided to come home since I felt tired.
As soon as I got home I let my little dog out again, fed the cats again and then went down to get the mail and pick up my new dog license. Since Naz is a neutered male, the fee was a whole $2.00! XD
I came home, discovered the internet was on! ::happy dance:: so I logged in, ate a snack so I could take my antibiotic and began checking my mail.
And that has basically been my day. I still have posts to respond to etc. but I will do it. Just maybe not today.
Niters all.

Date: 2016-12-02 09:31 am (UTC)As for the internet connection being down - it's horrible, isn't it? You feel as if the world has disappeared. Amazing that we lived without it until the 1990s and didn't even realise what we were missing :)

Date: 2016-12-03 02:19 am (UTC)The worst part about being offline is when things you need to get are *online* -- where you can't get them. :/ As much as I appreciate the 'net, I do miss a lot of old school things.

Date: 2016-12-03 02:23 am (UTC)I'm very lucky that it isn't flu. Just a bad cold is enough of a nuisance.
