Today's News and Weather Report
Nov. 22nd, 2015 08:56 pmToday was nice out though fairly cold. (Winter is coming, don't ya know? ;) So I did a few things to get ready for tomorrow, which will be errand day. Tomorrow through Wednesday afternoon will be pretty nice, and then we will be getting rain/ice-sleet, which will turn to snow on Thursday. Yay.
With Thanksgiving, the week will be oddly shortened since so much will be shut down/closed for the day -- or having shorter hours. But with the weather, it might not make that much difference. I had planned to see movies on T'Day but it looks as if I will be watching dvds and/or working on cards. So, we shall see. (And to be honest, there's not that many movies I want to see right now -- nearly everything I'm interested in will be opening in December. Figures.)
I know a lot of people are looking forward to the new 'Star Wars' but I am still so bitter over the first prequel (Episode 1) that I don't think I will bother going. I'm definitely not going to buy advance tickets either. For those of you who are going, I hope you enjoy it and that it really is good. But for me? I'm afraid Mr. Lucas pretty well killed any love/interest I did have in the franchise (something I never thought possible) -- and after almost all of my SW 'treasures' (figures, models, comics, you name it) were stolen years back, I just have no interest now. I wish it were different.
Ironically, I feel the same way about the XFiles reboot. I adored that show right up until the first two seasons after the first movie (even then it was a little iffy), and then I lost more and more interest though I did watch most of the eps. And now? Ho hum. Been there, done that -- and I'm not letting myself get sucked in again.
Ok, shutting up now. Apologies for the grousing and whining too. Take care everyone!

Date: 2015-11-23 03:33 pm (UTC)That's exactly why I'm refusing to buy tickets to any more Star Wars movies. I'll stick to Episodes 4-6 and the rest of it can all be pulled into the closet black hole. '
