Today's Notes
Sep. 9th, 2006 10:07 pmThe power went out about 11:30am so I decided to go into Hastings. The drive in was iffy with all the rain coming down. I could only manage about 45 mph and even then I didn't feel that I had very good control of the car. Just past the Community College entrance on 6, I had to pull over for an ambulance -- oddly enough, it was from Harvard. Pulling over was a bitch too; I thought I was going to spin out for a minute there.
I seriously need to pay last month's bill at Bert's. I was just lucky that I was able to charge this much. I hope I don't get another Rx Monday when I go for my check-up, or if I do, it better be some free samples.
Stopped for gas at Bosselman's so I could talk to Anna Jean about the meeting that's coming up. Didn't hurt that I actually needed gas so I had a legit reason to chat. $2.38/gallon is cheaper than here (in any case, w/the power out I couldn't have bought it here anyway.) Not sure what caused the power to go out but it wasn't just Harvard but Sutton too. Told her about the ambulance, so maybe she'll find out who it was. Good thing she works days so that I can ask her Monday.
We had at least an inch of rain by noon and it's been raining most of the day. We need it bad. We need a hell of a lot more though, the Platte is nearly dried up. Out west it's even worse.
No mail today. I wonder where the hell my dvds are. I sent for them a *long* time ago and they should have been here before Labor Day. They're only in Council Bluffs; mail to Omaha is overnight 99% of the time and Council Bluffs should only take another day. If they aren't here by Monday I'll have to call or email and see what's going on. Meh.
Ok, time to get this saved in case the power goes out again.
