Day 7

In your own space, share a favorite piece of original canon (a TV episode, a song, a favorite interview, a book, a scene from a movie, etc) and explain why you love it so much.

I'm going to talk about Star Trek:TOS for a change. One of my favorite eps of all-time is "The Trouble With Tribbles."

Why do I love it? Well, for one thing, it's *funny*. It never fails to put me in a good mood, partly because I used to do temp work in an agri-business firm and I know just how it is when you are dealing with *ahem* "lesser government officials". (I only wish they had shown Lurry's secretary. So this makes it an episode that I can identify with on several levels -- perhaps a bit too well at times. ;)

But best of all, it shows many of the Enterprise crew as ordinary individuals on shore leave and expands on their personal history. Win-win all around, I'd say.

You know, That was even a favorite from seeing them on their original showing back in the 60s as well.

I haven't grown up with Star Trek (had the right age, but my parents didn't have a TV) so my "First Contact" was with STNG, which will forever be the minting Star Trek series for me. I've watched a lot of TOS episodes by now, but most don't really resonate with me - but this one is one of the big exceptions, and also one I really loved. :)
