Day 3 – A movie that makes you really happy

I guess this means a comedy, so:

The Ladykillers (1955)

the ladykillers 1955 poster

One of the great Ealing Studio classics. I know there was a US remake in 2004 but it should never have been made. Seriously, there is a reason you shouldn't re-make classics. (Of course, there are exceptions to everything but this isn't one of them.)

I love this one, too! :D The dear old lady, the weird workings of the house and all that... *ggg*

I loved Mrs. W's trips to the police station too. They were surprisingly tolerant with her reports; she was clearly a regular.

One of my favorite bits was Frankie Howerd as the Barrow Boy -- I've been around horses enough that it was especially funny to me. Horses are great comedians.

But as Professor said: it was a wonderful plan, except for Mrs. W. No plan in the world stood a chance against her. XD

That's a fun movie. Have you seen Kind Hearts and Coronets? I think you might like it - Alec Guinness is in it too.

Here is the full movie if you haven't seen it yet:

Thank you so much for the link. Yes, "Kind Hearts and Coronets" is wonderful -- as is "The Lavender Hill Mob" and oh so many of the Ealing Studios films. I just adore them to bits!
