I finally had my new dvds lined up to watch and guess what--something is wrong w/the dvd player because the audio keeps cutting out. The pic is fine, just no audio. So, until I manage to find the booklet that might help me figure out what's wrong (believe me, I have no f'n clue where the damned booklet is hiding; for all I know my idiot brother tossed it when he left), no more dvds. I am pissed. Seriously pissed. Here is a nice long holiday weekend and I have no way to watch my dvds. I can play them in my 'puter, but the sound is minimal and the chair I'm using is damned uncomfortable. I suppose I can find another one super-cheap on eBay but I don't really have the money to do that. The ideal solution would be for me to find the booklet for my mom's dvd player but there's not much chance of that either, more's the pity. I know where her booklet should be, safe in a large plastic "cover"--but I can't find *that* either. Again, no f'n clue as to where it might be. Grrrrrr!!

Check your cables. Sometimes the players will go wonky if a cable's gotten loose, or maybe just going out. Is it co-ax or whatever the tech term is for the red/white/yellow cord?

Thanks for the tip. I'll double-check but everything seemed ok. And it worked just fine last week.

I don't know how many DVDs you tried to play, but it could be the DVD itself. Sometimes a DVD can be faulty. I've had that happen to me a few times. Or the DVD drive (or whatever it's called) might need dusting. Sometimes that does the trick.

They're all messed up. I tried cleaning the drive, *everything.* Either there is no sound at all or background only sound so that you can't hear the actors, just noise. I really think something got changed inside the player, a switch turned off?/on? that shouldn't be and that's the problem. But w/o a manual, I can't be sure. :(
