My Y-Group Disappeared :(

I don't get it. Sure I'm not as active in the Ygroups as I was once but they are just getting fewer and fewer. I'm not sure if the groups are slowly going over to lj or what it is. I had two different groups and when they kept getting hit by spam, I changed the membership from open to needing my approval. So. Nothing happened, zero activity and no requests until about a month ago, I had one request come in from an addy that looked like a spammer and I refused it. Not sure what happened after that, 'cause all of a sudden, the group has *disappeared.* No warning, *nothing* from Y. I don't know what to do. I don't see any point in complaining to Y because I'd never be able to replace the membership list, although the group was pretty well dead. But the weird part is, the *other* group I have is still there! It has even smaller membership and even less activity than the other. So... ::shrugs:: go figure. And if anyone has any ideas/suggestions on what or why the group disappeared, I'd like to know.

Unfortunate;y, there may not be much you can do; YaHell is evil and deletes groups after so long with no activity - although they used to send you a warning; did they not send you one? - and you could give your group an extension. This is fine if you check your owner addy regularly; I don't, so my solution was to have a n automsaatic message sent to the group each month for low traffic lists that I wanted to keep. This works well, although the members receive a message each month that may or may not be useful to them.

Nope, no warning at. all. And like I said, the other group is even smaller and less active than the one that was deleted. I was under the impression that as long as there were a certain number of members (like around 10; my group had 15), it was safe. Like I said, I refused what I thought was a spammer and I guess that is what did it. ::shrugs:: No big deal except that I lost a bunch of addresses and that kind of pisses me off.
