And here we go... 10 days meme:

1. I love to travel.
2. The older I get, the less I like cold weather. I'd like to move someplace warmer but then I don't think I could stand the heat.
3. I have a hard time saving money.
4. I have always had pets of some kind -- usually cats and dogs but others as well.
5. I tend to eat very slowly in public but I am not a picky eater.
6. I drink very little because I don't enjoy it. (The last drink I had was on New Year's Eve, and it was literally only a couple of sips.)
7. I grew up listening to bluegrass, country and folk music because my parents didn't want me listening to "that evil rock and roll with those evil electric guitars and all about *drugs* and "bad things" (aka *sex*)." Which meant I ended up listening to Woody Guthrie, Pete Seeger, Bob Dylan, Joan Baez, Phil Ochs -- and their music was very influential, though not in the ways my parents expected. Then again, I don't think they bothered listening to the *words*... and I've always wondered what they would have said if they had listened...
8. I have never smoked.
9. My mom started reading Shakespeare to me when I was a baby. Also Milton and KJB so I grew up adoring 'old' English.
10. I loathed school and I wish I had dropped out at 16.

Sometimes school isn't always the answer. I love the fact that you've always had animals around you. It's one more aspect of your caring and loving self. Travel = fun!

Having animals is a large part of why I stay where I am. If I moved, I doubt if I would be able to keep them all (or afford a place large enough) and I just can't bring myself to do that.

I was very lucky that Mom read to me. Of course, all of the family did but it's my mom I seem to remember most.
