In your own space, talk about what surprises you about fandom. It could be a pairing or fandom you never thought you'd like. A fanwork type you never knew existed. Leave a comment in this post saying you did it. Include a link to your post if you feel comfortable doing so.
Note: the following applies to all of my fandoms mentioned earlier, not just any one in particular.
I'd have to say the high quality of writing *and* world-building. There are some amazing, high-quality writers out there and it is my dearest hope that someday they will discover a way to become published authors. Believe me, I would happily spend my money on their works. I know that some have already done so and I've tried to buy as much as I can -- but please, remember that there are still a few of us who prefer hard copies to e-readers.
