Vacation Pics

So, I finally managed to snag a few pics from my camera... anyway, here goes...

This is where my cousin K. and I had lunch. It's a really *nice* place, a Cuban-French fusion restaurant (or so we called it; they describe themselves a bit differently in the link below) and the food is delicious. :)

Another pic of the restaurant from across the street. It is in the suburbs of Chicago btw.

Snails! First time I ever had them, and they were good! I don't know if I'll ever have them again but it was fun to try them. They were served in a brown ceramic dish that had individual 'cups', which is why the pic may look a little odd.

This is a pic of me at the "Open Lands". There is a surprising amount of "Open Lands" aka green space here -- I expected things to be much more developed. But apparently enough people with $$$$$$$ got together and were able to get big chunks of land into a conservacy (sic), which means it is not going to be developed ever.
This particular place was where some of the "old money" used to live but as the families died out and/or the estates were abandoned, they became part of "Open Lands."
