Excitement Tonight

One of the local fire trucks broke down in front of our house just now (or had some kind of problem with the pressure tank), and Naz got a chance to go outside and Bark At It! Such a thing had never happened before! The Barking! The racing back and forth along the fence! The flashing lights! And more Barking! And Men! Strange Men! More Barking!! Firemen getting out to look at the gauges! And Even More Barking!!!

Finally they drove off and went back to the station (or so I suppose) and I convinced Naz to come back in the house. I was half-worried he would bark himself into a spasm. He gulped down about a gallon of water and then he jumped on the couch to take a *loong* nap. He is snoring now so he should sleep quite soundly all night.

The first time my dog saw a fire truck she cowered behind me. I had to pick her up :)

Naz is quite a character and I'm sure the men would have been terrified, if had they noticed him. [eg] I wish I could get his bark level measured in decibels -- I bet the result would be surprising.

They really do. Of course, in their hearts, they actually *believe* it -- even when they are smaller than a normal-sized cat. :)

PS. I did get a wonderful night's sleep out of it too. [g]
