OMG it was *gorgeous* outside today! Just simply beautiful! Alas, the weather will change all too soon. :(

In other news, gas is $3.50/gal now! Yikes! =( That made me unhappy. so I went back home to do some light yard work and listen to some old Springsteen tapes on my ancient tape player/radio so I could remember the days of cheap gas and so much more freedom to just "enjoy", for lack of a better term. Shouldn't I be too young to be this old and/or nostalgic?

When I first started driving, and it wasn't THAT long ago, gas was under $1/gallon. I paid $3.59/gallon yesterday when I needed to fill up. I adore my car but I wish I got a bit better gas mileage. But...I LOVE my car.

Nostalgia is something we work toward our entire lives. You have to be able to attain a certain level of maturity before you can claim the right to celebrate nostalgia. You have every right to be nostalgic.

Attaining a certain level of maturity is something that will never happen to me. [g]

Nostalgia is one of those things that does not respect time or age. It just hits you when you don't expect it :)

*hugs you* (and I too remember the double digit gas days...)

Nostalgia seems to come at the oddest times doesn't it?

*hugs back*

Gas costs double that where I live - £1.30 a litre.

I am so glad the weather has at least given you a small break!

I hear you! I sometimes put on old 80's music on YouTube and the nostalgia!

A small break is lovely. :)

The 80's were truly the best and the worst of times for me.

I think they were quite fun for me. The 90's were more awful!

Erm. Is cheap compared to California prices. Right under $4 here and a new emissions law that's going to increase it. I remember complaining when some gas station had it for 56 cents a gallon when it should have been 35 cents. Those were the days.

Wow. I remember finding an old charge slip once where gas was only about $1.25.

There is a part of me that hates relying on cars so much. And there is no such thing as carpooling either, more's the pity. I would love to have mass transit as an option. But that will never happen out here though. :(

The strange thing is that both bus and train service were being phased out just as I entered jr. high. I loved trains. ::wistful sigh::
